A Few of Zoe's Favorite Things

She is only 10 days old but Zoe is already showing us that she developing a strong personality. We are still trying to figure her out but so far we've seen that she clearly loves and dislikes certain things already.

She loves:
  • Milk.

  • Being swaddled. The tighter the better.

  • Music. Doesn't matter to her if it's my horrible voice.

  • Her swing. A lifesaver, really.

  • And my personal favorite...peeing everywhere as soon as Francis starts changing her diaper (which I find hilarious). She thinks it a big funny joke.

She cannot stand:
  • Getting her diaper changed.

  • Sponge baths.

  • Being hungry.

  • Getting woken up (yes, we sometimes have to wake her to feed her - so hard to actually do in the middle of the night!)

First Weekend Home

Francis and I finally left the hospital Saturday afternoon. It was raining outside although it was in the mid-80's. It almost felt like we were on a tropical vacation...but with a brand new baby. ;) I love that Zoe was born in the same hospital as her daddy.

Firsts for Zoe these past 2 days:

Coming home

Breakfast on the porch

Walk in stroller

Nap with mom

Kisses from Maya

Meet Zoe Noemie Avila

Our sweet little girl has arrived!

We welcomed baby Zoe into the world on August 20, 2009. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 6 oz (wow!) and measured 20 inches long. We are in complete awe of her and are totally in love.
Here is the "belly shot" right before we drove to the hospital. I am going to miss feeling her kick around in there.

And the grandparents waiting patiently in the waiting room....

And finally... our beautiful little Zoe!

She already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger. Smart girl.

We cannot wait for you to meet her!

She's Back!

After 5 weeks of cone torture and short walks around the block, Maya is finally well enough to exercise normally! We stopped giving her the medicine that made her so drowsy and she is finally back to her normal self!

Here she is relaxing this afternoon right before playtime...

And later on in the evening we took her to the beach for the first time in a long time.

Best Room in the House

Francis worked hard on finishing up Zoe's room this weekend.
YAY!

Here he is starting off with the masking...

Then applying the first coat of primer...adios ugly red!

Finally the paint!

Then we put the crib together - all under an hour!
We are awesome :)

Our new favorite room in the house...
