Two Amazing Days!

Saturday was Zoe's first official beach day... the first of many I'm sure. While she was discovering sand (again, she is not a picky eater) and cold ocean water, Maya was busy trying to find lizards. A couple of things we cannot do without now that we have a baby: beach umbrellas and spray-on sunscreen.

We were busy right from the start on Sunday. Francis spent a large part of the morning adding the baby seat to my bike and going out to find the perfect bike helmet for Zoe. After Zoe's morning nap, we walked to the Mission to see the I Madonnari chalk festival only to get there and find out that dogs weren't allowed. I guess they don't want to take any chances at a dog peeing on their chalk paintings. So we walked around the Rose Garden instead and headed back home.

I couldn't wait to take Zoe out for a spin on the bike... She was so excited to put on her new helmet! Here she is in her crib getting ready for her first ride on a bike.

We took a ride down State St and people watched. Everyone loved Zoe. It must be the pink helmet with cats and paw prints ;)

And here she is passed out ... I think this should have been me after cycling with an extra 26+ pounds on the back of my bike!

It's a good life...

9 Month Stats

Zoe went to her 9 month pediatrician appointment today. I think her shots made her tired today. She even fell asleep on our walk this afternoon - a first for little Miss Zoe.

Here are her latest stats:

Height: 27.75 inches (60th percentile)
Weight: 20lbs 14oz (80th percentile)

Is there really only 3 more months until she is a year...??

Girl's Night

Girl's nights are the best...and will be even better when Zoe is 16 (or maybe 15?) and can drive us all home :)

Zoe finally found someone her own size to play with tonight :)

A Girls Afternoon

Yet another reason to love Nordstrom's in Santa Barbara...the Cafe. Zoe and I met Auntie Kim there for lunch and did a little shopping afterwards. I guess you can say that we had a mini girls day. :)

Don't the clouds look fake in this picture? I guess that's what 45mph winds will do!

9 Months!

Happy 9th month birthday, Zoe!

She loves:
  • To crawl around everywhere and where Maya goes, she goes.

  • To stand up - in her crib, along the coffee table, along the couch.

  • Baths and her rubber duckies.

  • Food. The girl will eat anything!

  • Her blocks.

  • Kisses.
She can't stand:
  • Diaper changes on the changing table (hopefully this is just a phase).

  • Going down for her second nap.

  • Getting out of the bath.

Lazy Sunday

I definitely needed a nap today after our big day yesterday. Zoe rarely falls asleep with me, it was such a treat!

After our naps, we took a lazy walk with the dogs around the neighborhood. Maya loved pulling her chariot...

A Day of Firsts

Saturday was a day of firsts for Zoe. It all started with her first swim lesson at the YMCA and Grandpa Wayne was lucky enough to be here to experience her first time in a pool.

Zoe was so excited to go in the water that she peed all over me right before going in ... actually, I think she was peeing on me the moment this picture was taken. I had to pretend like nothing was happening. Ah, the fabulous life of a mom. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take any other pictures, we are only allowed to take them on the last day of swim class.

Zoe loved being in the water and I can't wait for her next lesson!

Saturday evening, we attended Wes and Melinda's wedding - Zoe's first wedding. She is clearly already a party animal, staying up past 10pm. She may look more like her dad but she is clearly taking after her mom ;)

Nathan kidnapped her during dinner and was very impressed with how much food our little girl can eat.

All in all it was a great day!

My First Mother's Day

I've been completely spoiled today, on my first mother's day. Francis started off the morning by getting me my favorite decaf coffee drink - with chocolate and cookies! A breakfast of champions for sure. He knows me all too well. That was followed by homemade french toast, bacon (which I've been craving for weeks now!) and orange juice. Definitely not the healthiest meal but, let's me honest, that's how I like it. What a great way to start the day!

Here are some pictures of us enjoying our breakfast of champions outside:

We ended off the day with dinner at our local Italian restaurant. Zoe had her first taste of spaghetti and loved it. She is definitely NOT a picky eater.

Beachside Brunch

My fabulous girlfriends took me out to a birthday brunch today at The Beachside. I love that place! Not much better than sipping on a mimosa in the sunshine with your toes in the sand and laughing your butt off with your friends.

Thanks again girls! You guys are the best!

Summer Is On Its Way

For the first time in a long time, we had no plans this past weekend and it was exactly what I needed after being sick all week. Unfortunately, Zoe ended up catching the same bug I had and the poor thing barely slept all weekend, she was so stuffed up. Despite being exhausted, we did manage to make it to the Rose Gardens on Saturday. We basked in the sun, enjoyed some birthday champagne and worked on our tans. I can't wait for the summer!
