11 Months!

What??? I'm ELEVEN months old???

YAY!!!

Playa Maroma, Mexico

Francis, Zoe and I travelled to Playa Maroma, Mexico for our 2010 annual vacation. 10 days of relaxation and fun was just what the doctor ordered. We stayed at the Catalonia Resort on Maroma Beach. The resort is located approximately 20 minutes south of Cancun surrounded by the lush jungle. We had to take the pathway through the jungle to get to the buffet and beach areas. I loved it.

Luckily, the resort had a theater where we were able to watch the World Cup. There were a lot of Europeans at this resort and a lot of red Spanish jerseys which made it so much more fun. Loved all the foreign profanities!

We had horrible weather for a day and a half but that didn't stop us from playing in the pool and enjoying the resort. Zoe was kind enough to pass out in her stroller allowing us to enjoy an evening out.

We were not able to go on any tours with the baby but we did take the free shuttle to Playa del Carmen one day and walked around 5th Avenue. It is such a charming little beach town - it's filled with open aired restaurants and great shopping. The cobble stone streets and glimpses of the turquoise water added to its charm.

This baby floaty was the best investment we could have possibly made for the trip. Zoe loved being in the water, floating around. The ocean waves even put her to sleep in it one day! I think we officially have a water/beach baby on our hands.



We spent most of our vacation relaxing at the beach...and this beach was AMAZING (rated as one of the world's best beaches by the Travel Channel!) The white sand was so fine it felt like velvet and, better yet, Zoe didn't seem to mind eating it.

We were curious to see how Zoe would react if we buried Francis in the sand. I think she wanted to help finish the job by throwing sand in his face. Pretty funny.

We were very lucky when it came time for Zoe's nap time. We would walk down the endless beach until she fell asleep, then we would put her down on the beach chair. That's where she would nap most days and that was when we would work on our tans and order up some cervezas.

Other than all the beach time, we thoroughly enjoyed the all food options (Tio Pedro restaurant was the best!) and our Cuban cigars.

Overall, this was a great trip! Travelling and spending 10 days at a resort with Zoe was a lot easier and a lot more fun than I had expected. I already can't wait for next year's annual vacation :)

Old Friends, Good Times

The Parra's were in town at the end of June for an entire week (I am really late with this posting) before heading out to Samoa. We will miss them SO much but I know we'll be visiting them soon :)

Gavin is growing like a weed and is becoming quite the little comedian and gentleman. Here even gave me an awesome foot massage and made sure Zoe's face didn't have food all over it at dinner.

And doesn't Erica look good holding TWO kids? (hint, hint...)


And of course I took advantage of getting in some quality girl time while Erica was here.

There's nothing quite like old, good friends :)
