More September Pics

Thought I'd post a few more of my favorite pictures from September...
Don't they all look alike?  No doubt he's the dad.
The gymnast. He looks like a hedgehog these days with his hair growing straight out.
Someone had to go to time out at school for saying "F*cking."  Hehe

4 Year Stats

Zoe was really brave for her 4 year check up and barely cried when it was time for the dreaded shots.  I think there were more tears the day before when she found out she was going to have to go to the doctor.  She's definitely a drama queen.

Zoe's 4 year stats:
  • Height - 41" (75th percentile)
  • Weight - 40 lbs (80th percentile)
  • In the past year, she's grown almost 3 inches and gained 4 lbs!
Zoe is a perfect mix of "girly girl" with some tomboy thrown in. She loves getting her nails done, wearing dresses and pink and purple are her favorite colors. She prefers to dress up in her Supergirl costume vs. her princess costumes and, if given a choice, she'd rather go on a roller coaster vs. meeting a Disney character in person. She is silly, loves to tell jokes and looks out for her brother. Let's not leave out that she's also very opinionated and tries to be the boss most of the time. But we try to keep in mind that this is a good leadership trait.  Right..??

23 Months!

I am a couple of weeks late in posting this but here is Maddox's 23 month chair picture!

His silly face and his mismatched pajamas crack me up
Being the youngest at daycare, he has really developed a strong sense of independence. He is very strong physically,  jumps all the time and is always on the move. We've been able to keep him contained to his crib but probably not for long -look at what I caught him doing the other day.
He is definitely a much pickier eater than Zoe was at this age. His favorite things are fruit, bread/crackers, french fries and really anything sweet.  Although he tends to eat his veggies if he sees his sister eating them. He is saying more and more words, many of them in french  :)

Only 2 more weeks until my little man turns TWO!!

Pre-School Fun

It's hard to believe that in less than a year Zoe will be entering Kindergarten. I really don't know if I'm going to be ready for her to be such a big girl. Her preschool has started up a new pre-K curriculum for the older kids. It amazes me just how much these kids learn in the first few years of their lives.
Working on her letters
Free Art time....Zoe says this is a horse.
A self portrait apparently

Let's be clear, Little Piggies still makes sure that the kids have lots of fun.  They recently took field trips to the dump (to learn about recycling) and to the airport.
Watching the garbage trucks dump the recycling

Maddox all sweaty from dancing to Lady Gaga.  This kid loves to dance!

The Zoo

We love the SB Zoo! Getting there right when it opens is the best for kids - you get to see the elephants and penguins come out of their pens, the tigers tend to be feisty, and the giraffes are more curious than usual.

And the train ride is always a hit  :)

These two are getting so big - the zoo is becoming more and more entertaining.  And the questions are endless... "Mommy, why is the turtle on top of the other turtle?"  "Why is that penguin missing a foot?"  "Is that the Lion King?"  "Why is there a baby rabbit down there (speaking of the dead rabbit in front of the vulture)?"

Beach Days

We've had a really long, warm summer and it's been perfect for spending time at the beach.  We've been melting at home since we don't have AC -  most homes in Santa Barbara don't have AC since the weather is usually so mild. Escaping the heat of our house and getting the cool ocean breeze was a definite must this season.
Maya was in heaven helping the kids dig up the sand. Zoe and Maddox thought it was hilarious.

2 buckets, a couple of shovels and a handful of other toys kept these guys entertained for HOURS. It was amazing.  I love that they are playing together more and more.

Zoe discovered sand crabs and was obsessed. She wasn't scared of them at all. She would dig them up and catch them.  Maddox, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with them.

These 2 kids are definitely not scared of water.

I don't want summer to end!

Zoe's SuperGirl Party!

I won't even start making excuses as for how late I am in posting these upcoming posts. (You all know how busy I've been!)

We celebrated Zoe's 4th birthday at home this year.  The SuperGirl theme was picked out by Zoe - so cute.
Z with Claire
Thanks to Auntie Shannon's help, we made capes for all the kids with their first initial on the back. So cute and thanks again to Shannon for her help!
With SuperMan (Alex).  Please note the heels on SuperGirl  ;)

BBQ lunch with the ladies
With Hannah, on her due date. A week later, Brandon was  born.
We also rented a bouncy house for the day which was so. much. fun.  Although I had NO idea just how sore I would be from jumping around in there.

My attempt at taking a picture of both kids with Mimene and Fanfan
The cupcakes were a hit - well, really, when are cupcakes not a hit??  ;)

Someone did not want to wear his superhero cape....
Happy 4th Birthday, sweet girl!
Totally spoiled.
Looks like Fanfan is tired from all that jumping in the bouncy house

Thanks to everyone who made Zoe's 4th birthday so special!
