Baby (Boy!) Shower

Party planner extraordinaire, Kim, threw me an amazing baby shower last weekend. She thought of everything - from the home made food to the adorable owl-themed decorations.

Here I am with the hostess...sure wish I had champagne in that glass :)
With the sis-in-laws:
With my niece, MacKenzie:
And with my mom - the soon to be grandma of TWO!
This was the best cake (from Renaud's) I've ever had. I could have eaten the entire thing by myself. Seriously. Thanks, mom!
Belly bumping with Marie, she is due a week after me and also having a boy! I'm sure these boys will stir up trouble together. Can't wait! (I say that now....)
And I have to throw in this picture with Kim and Elizabeth - 2 ladies in my girl's nights crew. (Sadly, Jenn was missing.) But this picture cracks me up because it looks like a fan is blowing directly onto Elizabeth making her hair look like it has that perfect wind blown look. It makes me laugh every time.
Thanks again everyone for coming to the baby shower and for spoiling Maddox! I cannot wait for him to get here and for you to meet him!

2 Years Old!

Wow...our little baby is officially TWO. YEARS. OLD. How in the world did that happen?? Here is the last monthly chair picture for a while. I think we're going to do them every 6 months from here on out.
Quick 2 year stats:
Height: 35" (80th percentile)
Weight: 30lbs, 10 oz (90th percentile)

Look at how much she's changed in just one short year (here she is at one year).
And here she was at one month:
A few things that have not changed over the last two years: She is, and always has been, a little firecracker, she loves to eat and is always on the go. She is still a great sleeper (a trait we hope her little brother will also have) and loves it when we dance with and read to her.

A few new things: She does not like it when I sing unless it's "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" - and only at night before bed. She is always taking her clothes off (note chair picture above) and insists on putting on her own shoes no matter how late we are. She has as soft spot for mommy's high heels. She loves to brush her teeth and to sleep in her big girl bed.

Lots of family came to Santa Barbara to celebrate Zoe's second birthday. The big day all started with Zoe opening up her present from Francis and I. She loved this thing...so much that she thought she should pull it up on the couch and jump on it there - probably not the safest thing but who can say no to the birthday girl?Later that day we had a beach BBQ at Goleta Beach with friends and family. Zoe was completely spoiled... such a lucky girl!
Birthday cake!
Checking out the goods with cousin Cayleb...
So many presents! Someone's ready for Christmas!
Kisses through the tent with Fanfan.
Cake with Aunt Natalie!
Where are we going to put everything?! Although I'm sure it doesn't really matter since most of this stuff will end up scattered around the house in no time :)
And...I'm sure she'll want to kill me when she reads this one day but... Zoe also ended her big day by finally going potty (with some help from Mimene) like a big girl!
I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for you, sweet Zoe. You make us laugh and every single day. We are so, so lucky to have you as our daughter. We love you more than all the kisses we can possibly give you!

Ice Cream Date

Zoe and I went on an ice cream date the other day. I let her choose anything she wanted and without hesitation she picked out her first ever clown cone. (I had a scoop of their chocolate peanut butter swirl that lasted about 2 seconds...mmmm...I could really use a scoop of that right now.)
First she tries to eat it with her hands...
Then she tries to dig into it the cone with the spoon...grrr....
And finally getting the hang of it - nothing could stop her after this point.
And, yes, she ate the entire thing. Cookie, cone, ice cream, frosting and all. That's my girl!

Fiesta 2011!

I can't believe that Fiesta has already passed. Time is really flying by this year. I can barely wrap my head around the fact that in less than a week Zoe will be 2 years old and in less than 2 months she will be a big sister.

Below are some pictures we took of us having fun at MacKenzie Park during Fiesta weekend. We didn't end up going to any of the parades this year since I had to work all day Friday and Zoe didn't seem to be that interested in the last parade we went to. Next year for sure! Zoe had SO much fun on the rides. A true daredevil. Her all time favorite was the big slide. She and Francis went down 3 times in a row and every time she was saying "mo" ("more") when they were only half way down the slide.

The jumpy house clearly wasn't as fun as the rest...
This video cracks me up. She is having so much fun and seems so grown up!

SB Life

Here are some snapshots of my 2 girls having fun at the beach on a one of those perfect SB days.
