Girls Lunch

Today Zoe and I ventured out to Live Culture for lunch with Kimberly and Alysa.  Zoe thought that Kim was hilarious and was smiling at her the whole time.  She even had her first official laugh with Kim!  (I think we've found a new babysitter!)  We came back home afterwards since the wind picked up quite a bit.  Zoe is crashed out in her swing now...giving me time to update this blog  :)

24 More Days

My days spent on maternity leave have been some of the best I've ever had. I officially have 24 more days left before I have to return to work (boooooo).  Needless to say, I am taking full advantage of living in this beautiful town.  Zoe and I have been having some serious lazy mornings.  She usually starts her day off with some tummy time, then we play around and read.  We spend the afternoons enjoying nice lunches outdoors in the sunshine, walking around downtown and taking walks with Maya.  It might not sound super exciting to a lot of people but it's my idea of a pretty darn good life. 

 Here are some pictures of our day so far.  We met Francis for lunch at a great local deli  :)  Can you believe it's the end of October and it's in the mid 80's? Love it!

2 Month Checkup

Zoe had her two month check up today.  I still can't believe she's already two months old!  She is smiling and talking gibberish to us more and more each day - I can't get enough of it!

Daddy's Girl

 Francis, Zoe and I had a pretty fun few days...we started off the weekend by walking to sushi on Friday night.  Zoe loved being out and about!  Here is Francis entertaining Zoe while I am getting ready.  Ahhhh...daddy love...

We headed to our new favorite shopping destination, Babies 'r Us, Saturday morning. I never would have thought that I would like shopping there so much! But the best part of the day was when Jorge and Paty met us in Camarillo for lunch at a BBQ joint called Bandits (great name, right?). Hopefully Zoe was sending her 'baby vibes' to Paty so she gets knocked up soon.  :)

October Rain

We've definitely been enjoying the change in weather lately. Santa Barbara has been getting some much needed rain these past couple of days.  Two things I am loving about it: (1) sleeping in with Zoe knowing I don't have to go to work and (2) not having to water the yard for a while!

First Fire of the Season

It finally feels like fall has arrived and we welcomed the change by lighting our first fire. Maya and Zoe spent the afternoon in front of the warmth while Francis and I enjoyed a mini movie marathon.

Peace, Love and Granola

Aug. 23,1948- Sept. 23,2009

Vickster. That was my nickname for her. She was a hippy at heart and an amazing cook who made the best chili, spaghetti sauce and broccoli salad. She had about 3 too many cats but you would never know it, her house was always so clean. She loved to dance in her living room and especially loved it when people were silly around her. She never judged a book by its cover and always gave people the benefit of the doubt. She wasn't the best at keeping secrets but you somehow found yourself telling her everything. Thanksgiving was her holiday. It won't be the same without her.

We miss and love you, Vicki.
