A Super Halloween

Happy Halloween! This year, we dressed up the kids as Super Heros. Zoe was Super Girl, Maddox was Super Baby and Maya was Super Dog. I think Maya pulled it all together - she actually got more comments than Zoe when we were out trick or treating. I should admit that we also had to bribe Zoe with candy to put on her costume... she wanted nothing to do with it at first but by the end of the night we had the opposite problem.

Here are some pictures of Zoe's first official Halloween trick or treating. We stayed in our neighborhood, in San Roque, and it was amazing. I can't believe how elaborately decorated some of the houses were. It took Zoe a little while to get the hang of it but once she figured it out there was no stopping her. It's very rare that we give her candy so she definitely took advantage of getting as much as she could. Was Maya trying to fly in this picture?It sure is tiring being a Super Hero :)

First Bath!

Today was a big day...Maddox turned 2 weeks old and we gave him his first real bath! He absolutely loved it. I think we have another water baby on our hands :)
He was pretty upset with us when we took him out. I think he would preferred to stay in that warm water for a long time.

Pumpkins 2011

Halloween is already almost here! I ordered the cutest costumes for Zoe, Maddox and Maya but I am not sharing what they are until Halloween. In the meantime, here are some pictures of us at the pumpkin patch this past weekend. Zoe seemed more interested in the bouncy house than picking out a pumpkin and Maddox didn't enjoy being there during his feeding time (oops, bad timing on my part.)

10 days old!

We just started the first official chair pictures for Maddox. We started doing this when Zoe was 10 days old, so we thought we'd do the same with Maddox so we can easily compare the two.

Maddox's First Week Home

I can't believe we've already been home from the hospital for a week. Does having 2 kids make time go by twice as fast?? Here are some of Maddox's "firsts:"

We are enjoying the sweet time we have with him while he is so little now that we know how short lived this time is!

Meet Maddox Alexandre Avila!

Our sweet little Maddox has arrived!

On October 9th at 9:26am, we finally welcomed baby Maddox into the world! He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and measured 19" long (although 3 days later he measured 20.25" long ... so we think he may be closer to 20"). We can't stop staring at him, he is so adorable and sweet.

Labor this time was easy. Yes, you read that right. E.A.S.Y. I still can't believe it. We went into the hospital on the 8th at 8pm to get induced. At 10pm I got the Cervidil, by midnight I started having regular contractions. Epidural at 1:30am sharp. The doctor was called around 9am and after 3 contractions and no pain (yes, you read that right again), Maddox was born! He made his entrance sunny side up and to the side.
Our first visitor was big sister Zoe. She was so happy and excited to meet her little brother for the first time.
