I took the kids up to Folsom last weekend to visit the GRANDPARENTS (they don't like that word ... but too bad!) The kids were amazing on the slightly-less-than-6 hour drive up. Granted, it was at night during their bedtime so they slept most of the time. I didn't stop a single time and thought my bladder was going to burst but it was all worth the scream-less drive. It was a proud moment.
I found this picture right away of my grandfather - I think Maddox resembles him in the eyebrows (or should I say eyebrow) and nose. What do you think? Hopefully he won't be 5'4" like he was.
Mimene, the kids and I headed up to Apple Hill early Saturday morning. Such fun! We tried to get a decent pumpkin pictures....but it didn't quite work out quite as I had hoped.
| First it was the sun in their eyes.... |
| Then I remembered, these are my kids, they never sit still... |
| ...not ever. |
| But they're pretty darn cute. |
| It figures one would be looking away, right? |
| Then this guy thought he should move all the pumpkins around. I can never say they're boring, that's for sure. |
The pony ride was a hit. Zoe seemed like a natural and Maddox didn't need me to hold on to him at all. He had a gangster lean the entire time but he didn't fall off. Success!
There was a firetruck there which Maddox was obsessed with. Tears would flow if he was more than 10 feet away from it. Maybe he'll be a fireman...??
| Just like Billy Baldwin in Backdraft. But WAY cuter. |
Trying again to get a good shot with Mimene. I think we succeeded :)
| Canards! Ducks! Quack! |
The second Apple Hill Farm we went to was a kids paradise. They had those human mouse balls,
jump cord things (for lack of a better name) and the best desserts!
| Enjoying a snack |
| I love how adventurous this little girl is! |
Zoe and Mimene waited in line for almost an hour for the
jump cord thing while Maddox and I explored the rest of the place.
| Is it real? |
| What does the cow say? |
| Yes, this will go in his wedding slideshow. |
| We even found a little kids area with trampolines. Um...hello Maddox paradise! This kid jumps all.the.time. |
So...finally...to the
jump cord thing. Totally worth the wait. Zoe must have gotten 25 feet in the air. She even did a flip. I'm jealous I couldn't do it myself!
| Not to be outdone by his sister... |
It was such a nice weekend and we rounded it out by the river with Fanfan to enjoy the breeze and watch the kayakers.
| Love these pictures |
And
finally some tired faces after an exciting, non-napping day :)
