Once again...I'm super late in posting this! I should be back on top of things now that I don't have to travel so much the rest of the year. Mimene and Fanfan flew to Austin at the end of August to celebrate Zoe's 5th birthday.

We had to take the frenchies to discover the local French bakery, Baguette et Chocolat. This place is SO good, we can't get enough of it. Here are the kids waiting outside for everyone to finish their breakfast so we can go downtown!
We spent the afternoon at The Thinkery - this is probably one of the best kid museums I've ever been to! Everything is interactive and hands on. Thank you Mimene and Fanfan for the annual pass! We've already been back a couple of times!

Zoe loved the shadow making area.

We also took some time to visit the capital building downtown Austin - it was much prettier than I had expected. There's a lot of history here in Austin.

| Awww....cute (I look tired!) |
And what's a visit to Texas without getting some good country BBQ? We tried out a place called The Country Line, which I thought was a total hole in the wall, but the food was very good. I can't wait to explore all the great BBQ restaurants in Austin!

We had lunch the next day at The Oasis...a huge restaurant (3 or 4 stories, I think) with huge outdoor patios overlooking the lake. Too bad these pictures came out so dark -- but they give you a good idea of how nice the views are from here. Note how low the lake is right now...
I think we need to buy a boat so we can go venture out in that beautiful blue water... maybe after the pool we want to build. ;)

| Some random time capsule/spaceship thing outside the restaurant. "Keeping Austin Weird", I suppose. |
Thanks for making the trip out, Mimene and Fanfan! We can't wait to explore more of Austin with you again soon!
