18 months!
It's hard to believe that Zoe is already a year and half years old. It has gone by faster than we could have imagined. I know everyone says that but it's so true! She is a fiercely independent and strong willed little girl - traits I'm sure will help her succeed in whatever she chooses to do in life :)
Here is her monthly chair picture. It's sometimes a challenge to get her to sit still for these!

A few updates on Zoe:
* She is a true daredevil. She will climb up and jump off anything...play structures, the couch, the dog, etc.

* She loves Lego's.
* Her favorite foods are avocado, kiwi, risotto, banana, eggs, pancakes, edamame and peas.
* We weighed her this morning and she comes in at 27.4 pounds :)
* She says more words in French than English.
* She absolutely loves music and gets her groove on during dance class at daycare.
* As of a week ago, Zoe is no longer using her pacifier!
* She will blow us kisses whenever she is about to do something that she is not supposed to :)
To celebrate her 18 month birthday, Francis made her Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast. She ate every last bite!

Later on, we headed to the beach to burn off some energy. Thank goodness the rain has stopped!

A Lot Has Happened...
...these past couple of weeks.
Zoe actually kept her adorable pigtails in her hair for an ENTIRE day! I know, I know, she does look a bit like Shrek but it's oh so cute!
We've been taking advantage of this beautiful weather and heading over to our neighborhood park where Zoe decided that almost 18 month old dare-devils should swing on big girl swings. By themselves. She did great and didn't fall off once! I have to admit, however, that I was never further than a few inches away. Just in case. ;)
Then we were a bit bored one day and decided that instead of trying to prevent her from drawing on the walls or couch, I'd just let her tat herself up.
And then today, on Valentine's Day of all days, Zoe took a big tumble at daycare, landed on her chin and literally bit her tongue in half. She had to be put under while they fixed it all up. Here is the one picture I let myself take while in the hospital, right after they had finished stitching her tongue up. Breaks my heart...but I have no doubt that she will be back to normal in no time. Those stitches will dissolve in 5-7 days and I'm sure she'll be eating everything she can get her hands on again.
I really hope this isn't going to be a reoccuring theme on Valentine's Day. We love you, Zoe!

Oreana Winery
Francis and I haven't done a lot of local wine tasting although Santa Barbara has a great downtown Urban Wine Trail. So this past weekend we decided to check out Oreana Winery since they are dog friendly and have live music on the weekends. We weren't sure how it was going to work with a baby AND a dog but it turned out to be pretty fun although there were a couple of times when we had to bribe Zoe with food to get her to sit down. It used to be that we'd have to bribe Maya.
