Congratulations Marian and Timmy!

Our good friends Marian and Timmy got married back on August 27th (and, yes, I'm just now posting). Zoe was one of the flower girls...although she didn't do too well going down the aisle. She did not want to wear the beautiful head piece, she definitely didn't want to throw the flower petals and I had to help her walk down the aisle. She did look adorable though :)

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and was a true reflection on who this couple is.
Waiting for the shuttle to the top of the ranch:
The wedding and reception took place at Wiggy Ranch in Carpinteria...about 15 minutes south of Santa Barbara. This ranch was amazing...and the reception site was so romantic and perfect for a warm summer night wedding. The food was delicious, our favorite, Mexican food - great tacos and sides - and the most delicious cakes and cupcakes made by our good friend Elia (he also made the cupcakes for Zoe's 1st birthday party). Zoe was a real party animal that night. She was trying to get in on the keg with daddy......and she stayed up until 10:30pm dancing on the dance floor. I love her happy little face in these pictures. She was so in awe of Marian. Love love love.Congratulations Marian and Timmy! We love you guys!

Bed Time

Zoe loves bedtime. She loves her big girl bed, her big girl pillow and choosing a book for us to read to her. We often times have to read it to her 3 or 4 times in a row. We usually start in English, then we translate it in French and then go through it again and point everything out on the pages. I have to admit it's my favorite time of night as well...I love that we can lay with her on her bed now that she's out of her crib.
Here are some pictures of the kids' room. Maddox will be on the right and Zoe is on the left.

Francis' Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was Francis' 36th birthday weekend! I can't believe this is his 11th birthday that we've celebrated together...and he's still just as good looking! We went to the Zoo on Saturday and we got there just as they opened. All the animals were feeling rambunctious. The monkeys were swinging, the elusive leopard was out and the elephant were putting on a pretty good show. Zoe was loving it.
The penguins were pretty cute - just waking up and waddling (like I do these days) out to the water.
And we had to take a train ride around the zoo. Zoe sat in between us and was loving it. Looks like she's officially old enough to really enjoy the ride.We continued the celebratory weekend with a date night on Sunday which included a babysitter for Zoe, romantic dinner at Opal and a mandatory birthday drink at Harry's.
Happy Birthday, Francis!!!
