Birthday Weekend

My parents came to visit this past weekend...it was a quick short trip for them but they managed to get lots of quality time with Zoe.

8 Months Already!

Zoe turned 8 months old today and it's getting harder and harder to get her to cooperate for the monthly chair picture. She's very active these days and I have a feeling we're going to have to child-proof the house very soon. If she's not following Maya around the house, she is sticking everything in her mouth. She has a special talent for finding dust bunnies.

Here are the couple pictures I was able to get. She was cracking up in the second one - that was when she figured out how to rock the chair - and almost fell off. She is definitely always keeping us on our toes these days.

Jalama Beach

Francis and I haven't been camping in almost 2 years so this past weekend we decided to head up to Jalama Beach (home of the famous "Jalama Burger"and, I have to say, it was pretty darn good). The weather was beautiful during the day but very windy at night. The wind didn't drown out the sound of someone's snoring, however.

There was a great little playground for Zoe, not bad for her first camping experience.
Maya had her own fun playing hide and seek with this gopher at our campsite.

Baby's First Sushi

We went out to dinner tonight at our neighborhood sushi restaurant and Zoe tried a little bit of everything...cucumber salad, rice, tofu, ahi, salmon, crab...and she loved it all! What an adventurous little eater.

Zoe's First Easter Bunny

Ok, I didn't know what to expect when this arrived on our doorstep today. At first I thought it was kind of weird looking...I mean, why would my parents get something like this for Zoe? But all that changed the moment it started SINGING.

Now I can't stop laughing whenever it's on. Zoe seems to be getting a kick out of it too.

Four years ago today, we said "I DO!"

I remember how weird it was to be a "wife" and to be called "Mrs. Avila." Ah...how time flies...
