France 2013 - Paris!

Ok, I am terribly late in posting about our trip to France at the end of July but better late than never!

I was really nervous to go on an 11 hour flight (direct, thank goodness and worth every penny!) with both kids. I came armed with baby benadryl, candy and lots of new toys. With the exception of 2 relatively short fits by Maddox, the kids were amazing!
Getting ready to take off!
Maddox playing with his new super loud Superman bike toy in his bassinet. Poor kid, his legs and feet were completely hanging off when he napped.
Zoe loved her new Hello Kitty ear phones.
We arrived in Paris early in the morning so we took the kids to the Gardens of Luxembourg to play in the park. This was the BEST kids park I've ever been to. We felt like locals...and I suddenly now want to move to Paris for the summers.  Maybe one day! We spent a lot of time walking around, relaxing and trying to keep cool. It was probably 90+ degrees during our entire stay in France.
Lucas happened to be in town and he met up with us  :)
We spent so much time in the cafe's eating good food, cheese and drinking good wine.
walking...
and walking...
and walking...

Getting our culture on - visiting the local chapel in Saint Germain

Maddox loved the cobble stone streets
We bought a lock and wrote our names and date on it...
We added it to the many locks on the bridge...
Zoe making sure we remember where it is located for next time...
Maddox just wanted to eat...
Then we took the keys and...
Made a wish and threw it into the river! Now we are all going to love each other forever!
We took a moment to sit on the river's edge and watch the boats go by.  It was really busy at this time, the 100th Tour de France was scheduled to end that evening in Paris.

We walked back to our hotel via the Gardens of Luxembourg and noticed these photographs displayed all around the perimeter of the park. All photo's of previous Tour de France.

 I love this park!

We spent some more time at awesome kids park on our last day, the kids were in heaven.

Pooped.

Maddox is just as delicious as our dinner!
Zoe attempting to be a photographer.

We had a great few days in Paris, exploring the city as a little family. We never did make it to the Eiffel Tower...next time!

More to come about our trip....
